This was a heartwarming blend of cosy fantasy and romance. Perfect for a young teen. Finlay Ashowan is seen as somewhat of an enigma when he joins the King and Queen's kitchen in Daxaria as the royal cook. Fin is harbouring a secret that does not stay secret for long. Magic, forbidden love and friendship are all there. It's nice that the main character is actually a male witch for a change. Great sweet teenage read.

Caleb Heart, the enigmatic CEO of Heart Industries and a man whose allure is as undeniable as it is dangerous. A steamy, wet, chance encounter ignites a spark between Darcy and Caleb, leading to a whirlwind of romance and intrigue. Darcey finds herself thrust into a web of corporate sabotage and deceit facing everything from sinister plots to heartwrenching betrayals. It is a spicy read in places and deals with some dark themes. A MUST READ.

I loved this book it was a great holiday read around the pool. Nisha and Sam two wildly different women eventually become unlikely friends after a mix-up at the gym with their bags. Their lives become unexpectantly entwined both blaming each other at first when things fall apart. It was a relatable, fast-paced enjoyable read. I also love the Kama aspect. I would definitely recommend this book and will look for other Jojo Moyes offerings.

I did not bail but it was a hard slog reading this book and I did not enjoy it very much. It came out to rapturous reviews and was up for various awards so I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I get why it was nominated as it ticked all typical the boxes it just was not for me. I found it cringy in places and I could not relate to any of the main protagonists. Only my opinion though.

It was a lighthearted read about the crazy house-heisting capers by a group of indomitable women. Very Downton Abby esc. This is what happens when you upset Mrs King. After years of loyal service, she is let go and she decides to get even. They just didn't see it coming. It is a sweet easy read but it will not set the world on fire or make me dash to read other offerings by Alex Hay.

Elizabeth Zott what a lady... I loved this book it made me smile and was a joy to read. Elizabeth was an extraordinary woman and scientist who lived on her own terms, with a brilliant mind who was way ahead of her time. Her approach to parenting was simply fabulous. I loved Six-Thirty and Mad and the dynamic between them all was hilarious. Her practical no-nonsense approach to everything was marvellous and like a breath of fresh air.

It was a gripping tale about the traps of Hollywood and how Evelyn did what she had to do to get where she wanted to be. It does pose the question of whether a man would be judged in quite the same way. For all it was fictitious you could imagine real Hollywood starlets today facing the same sexist attitudes and challenges. It's a story of friendship, passion, drive, love and loss. Worth a read.
